Kevin Doherty’s powerful debut novel is Penny Baps. According to Oisin Fagan, author of Nobber, ‘Idiom, insight and keen imagery are wonderfully blended in this funny and wise debut,’ which bring an original, new voice to Irish fiction in this beautifully told story about the relationship between brothers.

Olivia Fitzsimons’s stunning debut novel, The Quiet Whispers Never Stop, is a story of love, obsession and escape, set in Northern Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s. An uncompromising, lyrical tour-de-force, it marks the arrival of another extraordinary voice in Irish fiction. 

Kathleen Murray’s short fiction has been widely published in The Stinging Fly, The Moth, Dublin Review, Prairie Schooner, Winter Papers, and various anthologies. Her debut novel, The Deadwood Encore, is set in an Irish community alive with old magic and extraordinary possibility. A boundless story about the past’s hold over the present.
