In an isolated corner of Brazil, and in a small Irish village, strange things are happening. In Jan Carson’s The Raptures, a young girl is untouched by an outbreak killing her classmates, while in Ana Paula Maia’s Of Cattle and Men, a slaughterhouse stun operator cannot see what is making the cows go mad. The Festival brings these two voices together in a conversation about the unsettling and the inexplicable. Chaired by Mairi Oliver.
