Danielle McLaughlin

Danielle McLaughlin is the author of the short story collection, Dinosaurs on Other Planets. A Windham-Campbell Prize recipient in 2019, she also won the much-coveted Sunday Times, Audible Short Story Award, to cap a remarkable year for the former solicitor from Co Cork. Her new book, The Art of Falling, is a beautifully written family drama about betrayal, ownership and creativity.  In this gripping debut, the author reveals profound truths about love, power, and the secrets that rule us.

Fiona Scarlett

Fiona Scarlet has just been announced as the author to watch! The Dublin born author’s most recent publication, Boys Don’t Cry, exploring grief, and masculinity, woven within a background plot of gangland crime is regarded as one of this year’s standout debuts. Lyrical, and heart-breaking, the story is told with real grit and intimacy, as we meet Finn and Joe, living with their parents in a Dublin tower block, each facing their own challenges.

Jan Carson

Jan Carson is a writer and community arts facilitator based in Belfast. She is the author of two novels and four-story collections. Her 2019 novel, The Fire Starters, won the EU Prize for Literature for Ireland.
